March 2, 2019 was a special night for many in the Van ISD family. We rolled out the red carpet to induct six new members into the Van ISD Faculty and Staff Hall of Fame and recognized our Teachers of the Year at the 2019 Van ISD Honor Banquet. It was a very well deserved celebration for this group of outstanding educators.
This year’s Hall of Fame inductees included Charles McCaffree, A.E. McKibben, Beth Praytor, Avonne Tetrick, Keller Thormahlen, and A.M. Tunnell.
The 2019 Teachers of the Year are Sarah Barger, J.E. Rhodes Elementary School; Ashley McLellan, Van Intermediate School; Megan Kohlleffel, Van Middle School; Joann West, Van Junior High School; and Jon Perkins, Van High School.
We are privileged to have remarkable talent within our school family that allows us to produce such an event. Many staff members and students devoted countless hours to produce the video presentation, printed program, and transform the Van Junior High commons area into a beautiful event venue to honor these exceptional educators. Thank you to all who helped make this evening a memorable and special event for our honorees.
